Let’s face it y’all – there are LOTS of shady coaches out there. I scrap with them pretty regularly 😉 There are some GREAT ones out there, and I want to share a few with you.
If I were personally on the job market, I’d hire someone to help me. While coaching and resume writing is not REQUIRED (lots of job seekers can quite effectively sort this out on their own) there is nothing WRONG with getting professional help.
Before hiring someone, it’s important to do some research. Start by watching this video, then check out some of my recommendations below! This is not an exhaustive list, and I will add to it regularly, but these are folks I would gladly recommend based on my interactions with them thus far. I’m sure I’ll be adding more and please do let me know if there’s someone you think should be on the list! Let’s help job seekers!
Kamara Toffolo – Kamara is not only a skilled resume writer, but she also hosts a weekly “Office Hours” on YouTube where she shares industry specific goodness, often with special guests! Check out her offerings here – Kamara’s website

Jessica Jordan Richardson – a tenured communications pro, Jessica works with executives and small businesses on brand development. Learn more here – JR Exec Resources
Erin Riska – a breath of fresh resume writing air! Erin works with all kinds of job seekers. In an industry that can often be skewed towards execs with deep pockets, Erin’s tiered levels of service provides a little something for everyone.
Trish Wyderka – a well known industry fave! Trish is a Researcher and frequent contributor to the recruiting and sourcing community. She has a side business as a resume writer, with a special focus on transitioning Veterans and Federal resumes.
Brittney Swan – Not only is Brittney an experienced resume writer, but she also hosts ME for an occasional LinkedIn Live talking about all things recruiting. Hilarity always ensues.
Yvonne Robinson-Jackson – Yvonne has deep expertise in staffing and now leads Goal Inspired Career Coaching, working with international job seekers from mid level to C-Suite leaders.
Amanda Rico, Ph.D. – Dr. Rico is a specialist in the Oil, Gas and Energy industries and a genuinely kind human! One of the most knowledgeable people I’ve met.
Laura Mazzullo – Laura specializes in HR / Recruiting and is a true gem. I’m honored to call her friend and have personally benefited from her quiet strength and knowledge of this crazy industry.
Dawn Rasmussen – I’ve lost count of the number of very satisfied job seekers I’ve sent to Dawn over the years! Not only is she a gifted coach, she’s also raising a baby deer named Thor. It’s as adorable as it sounds.
Adam Karpiak – come for the resume / profile reviews and edits, stay for the snark. Adam makes me laugh and also gets his resume clients results!
Katrina Kibben – I’ve known them for years and they remain one of my absolute faves in our industry. Katrina focuses on writing for the recruiting industry and also LinkedIn profile re-writes. Check out their site Three Ears Media.
Bernadette Pawlik – I just adore Bernadette! She’s quickly becoming a fave LinkedIn buddy. Bernadette bases her resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, and career strategies on extensive full-cycle recruiting experience. In addition to consulting at the mid-level and above, she does free resume reviews each Friday for those who cannot afford consulting services. FREE y’all!
